How to CLF-C01 AWS Cloud Practitioner
After Completing the 3 Foundational Exams of Azure, I eyed towards the biggest player in market for cloud services — Amazon Web Services AWS
I started AWS journey with the AWS CLF-C01 which is a fundamental level exam of AWS. The exam lasts 90 minutes with 65 questions. The test uses a combination of multiple choice and multiple answer question types and one should score a minimum of 700 points to pass the exam. The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner offers a foundational understanding of AWS cloud concepts, services, and terminology.
This blog post will walk you through how to prepare and clear the AWS Cloud Practitioner exams within a week’s time.
Skills which shall be measured in the exam are:
- Explain the value of the AWS Cloud
- Understand and explain the AWS shared responsibility model
- Understand security best practices
- Understand AWS Cloud costs, economics, and billing practices
- Describe and position the core AWS services, including compute, network, databases, and storage
- Identify AWS services for common use cases
The primary content domains and their weightings of same in exam are listed in the table below.
To prepare for same, among the best courses one can do is Stephane Maarek’s Udemy course — Ultimate AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. This course is very detailed and the instructor explains which part or term one must remember to quickly answer a question in exam.
Example: if you see any question related to “Chef and Puppet needed”, the answer should be “AWS Ops Work”.
However if you do not want to dwell into a long 14.5 hours of detailed learning. The next best source is the AWS skill builder platform. You can do a three hours course Exam Prep: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C01) along with an Official Practice Question Set to pass this exam.
AWS certifications is a good way to demonstrate your proficiency with the platform and should offer you an advantage in interviews. The Cloud Practitioner exam just requires the most basic understanding of AWS cloud, so should be an easy crack for those working in computer science domain.
